A Nigerian fugitive, Abdul Adewale Kekere-Ekun, wanted
in the United Kingdom for murder, was arrested by the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday in Lagos.
According to the Premium Times, reliable sources in the commission said Kekere-Ekun was arrested over identity theft-related offences only for later checks by the agency to reveal that he was on the wanted list of the UK police.
Reportedly, the suspect has been hiding from the UK police for four years. The police had set aside a 5,000 pounds reward for information that could lead to his arrest.

It was reported that Kekere-Ekun is wanted in the UK for the murder
of Marcus Hall, an 18-year-old who was beaten and stabbed to death 14
years ago, following a brawl outside a night club in Luton.
Seven other people who participated in the brawl that culminated in Hall’s death had been prosecuted and jailed for life, but Kekere-Ekun, who featured prominently in CCTV footage of the attack, had eluded police.
However, the EFCC operatives managed to catch him in Lagos, Nigeria. Details on the Premium
