Tragedy struck on Sunday at Alawonla community, Okelele area in Ilorin East local government area of Kwara State when one Suleiman Azeez reportedly stabbed his neighbour simply identified as Safiu Ibrahim to death.
The deceased was said to have been hacked to death by his assailant over an argument that ensued between them near a filling station in Alawonla area around 1.00pm on the fateful day.
According to an eyewitness when the argument heat up, Azeez allegedly went into his room and brought out a knife with which he reportedly stabbed the victim in the neck.
It was gathered that Safiu was immediately rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he was confirmed dead.
A resident of the area who spoke with LEADERSHIP on condition of anonymity, said that the suspect is at large, while the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital’s mortuary.
