Biafra: IPOB Declares 23RD September, 2016. Public Holiday To Release Thousands Of Birds With Biafra Colours

IPOB members and other Biafrans living in Nigeria and Biafra land will hold a world wide Protest in 23rd September, 2016. to press for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafrans detained by nigeria government.  

All markets, schools and banks, transport workers and manufacturing companies would be shut on Friday in solidarity to Biafra restoration process by staying at home "Work Free Day".

“Again, we call on Okada riders, Keke drivers, Bus drivers, Luxurious bus Owners and drivers, The Nine Loaders (911 drivers and Owners) the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and National Association of Transport Owners (NATO) are advised to withdraw their vehicles from the road on that day in solidarity with IPOB worldwide for the release our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and for the total liberation of Biafra people,” he said.


The group further called on Biafrans to endeavour to switch off their mobile phones from 8 am to 4 pm on that day. “This will let the world know including communication companies, that Biafrans are serious towards the release of their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the restoration of the ancient and sacred sovereignty of God’s nation Biafra,” IPOB said.

 
The group said its directorate of state has declared that only the Biafra land and Nigeria are exempted from street protests on the said day while members in other countries embark on street march. Meanwhile, a cleric has said it would be painful if the leader of the IPOB celebrates his Christmas in prison custody.

The cleric, Abraham Udeh who is also the general overseer of Mount Zion Faith Global Ministries accused the global community over their silence on the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu. Udeh said Kanu was still under prison custody due to the nonchalant attitude of the international community especially Britain in assisting the IPOB achieve its goal of independence.
