- - Two of Team Nigeria’s athletes have made their presence known at the ongoing Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Friday, won the country’s first medal at the Games, breaking the
paralympic record for the event at the time she lifted 101kg.
She won silver in the women’s 45kg Powerlifting, after lifting 106kg behind China’s Hu Dandan, who set a new world and paralympic record with her lift of 107kg.

Later in the day, Roland Ezuruike, won the first Gold for Nigeria, also smashing 3 records in the process. His first lift of 185kg broke the previous Paralympic record in the men’s -54kg.
