Multi-award winning Nigerian writer and filmmaker, Onyeka Nwelue, whose debut documentary film, 'The House of Nwapa' premiered in the Unites States at Harvard University recently, on Wednesday, took to his Facebook page to reveal that he has kicked off a new political party with young people in Nigeria.
The US-based Nwelue who has been an Assistant Visiting Professor of African Stuides & Literature at Manipur University in India, disclosed that his new party is called Progress Party (PP).
The 28-years-old is currently a Research Fellow at Ohio University's Center for International Studies in Athens, Ohio, where he is to curate Athena Cinema Africa, a series of film screenings of African films. Below is the full statement he posted on social media;
